Speaker Series: Lucy Pullen

Artist Talk

Lucy Pullen

Organized in conjunction with Art Now

Nov 8, 2005

Biographies

Lucy Pullen lives and works in Victoria BC. She studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and Temple University in Philadelphia. Pullen produces works in a wide range of media including drawing, sculpture and photography. Her works are often formally independent of one another, and appear determined from an internal logic that leads to idiosyncratic ends. A strong sense of humour draws Pullen’s work together, with an interest in word play, puns, and an adventurous use of technique developing the possibilities of everyday materials. Her recent exhibitions include the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver, Art in General / Bellwether / Parlor Projects in New York City and the Platform Gallery in London, England. Pullen teaches at the Unveristy of Victoria and is represented by the State Gallery in Vancouver.
