Biographies

Roger Bywater is an artist, curator, editor and gallerist from Toronto. In 2001 he co-founded goodwater gallery which functioned as a project room to showcase works by emerging and senior artists who worked primarily in both project-based and idea-based formats. These artists included Roderick Buchanan, Moyra Davey, Jeremy Deller, Mark Dion, Rodney Graham, Nestor Kruger and Sandy Plotnikoff. Recently, goodwater has taken a new direction, closing the gallery to focus on developing projects which are not dependent on any particular site or format. From 1992 to 1999, Bywater worked as a curator and editor of Art Metropole’s exhibition and publishing projects. Under Bywater Bros Editions, he also published multiples by David Shrigley and Euan Macdonald.
