Big Toast

Web Project

Ron Terada

June 1–September 1, 2002

Online

Charles H. Scott Gallery is pleased to announce the launch of Ron Terada’s iproject, Big Toast. Terada will be hosting a mp3 website for three months, each day posting a new song from his own archive of music. Consistent with his recent conceptual practice, involving the give away of mixed CD compilations and posters, hosting this site re-visits his position as consumer of popular culture, that of a fan. His strategy is to mimic the ability to download free music that is already provided on the internet. His three-month-long mix will be tempered by his daily life in a journalistic gesture reminiscent of conceptual art practices of the sixties and seventies.

Biographies

Ron Terada is a graduate of the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design where he now teaches. He has exhibited across Canada and internationally.

iprojects

iprojects (2001–2002) was an initiative of Charles H. Scott Gallery designed to present original projects by artists on the World Wide Web.
