The Miracle Mile

This exhibition is the culmination of a year long project by Vancouver-based artist Jamie Hilder in which he attempts to run a four-minute mile based on a race that took place at the 1954 Empire Games in Vancouver. Hilder painstakingly documents his efforts in a number of forms including a video, photographs and text. The project addresses urban memory, the urban body, and the recuperation of everyday activity into a creative and artistic sphere.
