Liisa Roberts: Close-Up

Liisa Roberts will introduce Close-Up (Nama-ye nazdik) by Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, a film that collapses the line between truth and fiction, documentary and drama.

Liisa Roberts is a media-based artist employing the cinematic image within elaborate spatially defined installations. Dividing her time between New York and Helsinki, Roberts has been exhibited internationally including Mirror’s Edge at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Double Indemnity: Artists and Popular Film (1999–2001) is a series of talks and screenings by artists who reference popular film in their work.
