Speaker Series: ARTLAB
Artist Talk
ARTLAB
Room 328, Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design
BIOGRAPHIES
ARTLAB is a collaborative artist project by London-based artists Charlotte Cullinan and Jeanine Richards. Since 1998 they have worked to produce sculptures and situations which provide support for the display of artworks, and function as artworks in themselves. Often working with other artists, ARTLAB uses these structures as a strategy to allow them to work in a “flexible, non autonomous way to create situations where the importance of authorship and the single art object is questioned.” This talk is accompanied by a screening of ARTLAB’S FREE STATE CINEMA.
Speaker Series
The Speaker Series (2000–2006) was a programme of visiting artist talks and lectures organized by Charles H. Scott Gallery in conjunction with the Art Now course at ECIAD. The programme was initiated by ECIAD faculty Ian Wallace in the 1970’s as a series of lunchtime artist talks. Wallace ran the programme until 1998.
