Lecture

Dr. Bernard Frischer

Co-organized with Art Now and the New Media Innovation Centre

February 13, 2001, 12:15 PM

Room 328, Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design

Biographies

Dr. Bernard Frischer is director of the UCLA Cultural Virtual Reality Lan, the mission of which is to create authenticated 3D computer models of significant cultural heritage sites around the world. Real time 3D computer models of cultural heritage sites will become as common in several fields of study as 2D 25mm slides are today. The UCLA Cultural Virtual Reality Lab is striving to ensure that the high standards of scholarly accuracy that have been developed for print publication are also applied to the digital publication of virtual environments.

Speaker Series

The Speaker Series (1989–2006) was a programme of visiting artist talks and lectures. From 2000–2006, talks were co-organized with the Art Now course at ECIAD.
