Biographies
Jenifer Papararo recently moved to Vancouver from Toronto to be the curator of the Contemporary Art Gallery. Her curatorial practice has been formed in the dynamics of collective practice through her involvement as a member of the artist collective Instant Coffee. Before beginning her tenure at the CAG, Papararo was the Director of Programming & Publishing at Mercer Union in Toronto. As part of Instant Coffee she has recently exhibited in the San Juan Poly/Graphic Triennial, Puerto Rico; The Way We Work, Southern Exposure, San Francisco; and AS A SATELLITE, The America’s Society, New York. Upcoming Instant Coffee Exhibitions include EIEI, Hoffman’s House, Valparaiso, Chile; what do we do when we can’t be 2gether, 69 Pender, Vancouver; and Yerba Buena Center, San Francisco.
Speaker Series
The Speaker Series (2000–2006) was a programme of visiting artist talks and lectures organized by Charles H. Scott Gallery in conjunction with the Art Now course at ECIAD. The programme was initiated by ECIAD faculty Ian Wallace in the 1970’s as a series of lunchtime artist talks. Wallace ran the programme until 1998.
