Biographies
John Welchman is a Los Angeles-based writer, critic and scholar who has written extensively on contemporary art. He is the author of Art After Appropriation: Essays on Art in the 1990’s and Modernism Relocated: Towards a cultural studies of visual modernity. He will be speaking about the subject of Faces and Power for his lecture at ECIAD.
Speaker Series
The Speaker Series (2000–2006) was a programme of visiting artist talks and lectures organized by Charles H. Scott Gallery in conjunction with the Art Now course at ECIAD. The programme was initiated by ECIAD faculty Ian Wallace in the 1970’s as a series of lunchtime artist talks. Wallace ran the programme until 1998.
