Biographies

Terence Gower studied at the Emily Carr Institute in the early 1990s before taking his practice to Cologne, Germany, Mexico City, and New York, where he is now based. Gower’s work over the past four years has dealt with forms of architectural representation, using Mexican Modernism as his principal study. He produces wall installations, videos, multiples, and full-scale architectural constructions. He has exhibited his work at galleries and museums internationally including PS1, ICA Boston, The Power Plant, Kunsthistorisches Institut, Bonn and XIII Bienal de la Habana. In addition to showing his own work, Gower has curated exhibitions for several museums and art centres such as El Museo del Barrio, New York, Museo de la Ciudad de Mexico, and the San Francisc Art Institute. He has created public projects in Köln, Germany, Mexico City and New York City and has a number of published editions and multiples including Appendices, Illustrations & Notes, published by Smart Art Press.
